I've been drawing since I can remember. It seems I was always drawing something. When I lived in Plainfield, I exhibited my work in the Plainfield art festival from '75-'83.

I graduated from H.S. in 1978 and took one year of Commercial Art at Union County Vocational Center as one of my courses in H.S.

I liked gymnastics before Nadia came on the scene and was always trying to do some gymnastic skill in my back yard, such as cartwheels and back bends, but of all the gymnasts I've seen, Nadia has always been my favorite. I started collecting pictures of her to draw when I was 16. From the time I was 12 I had taken private art lessons and I had an excellent teacher. She taught me what to look for and how to capture the spirit of the subject. When I was 17, I had to carry on my interest in art by myself since my mom couldn't afford to send me to my lessons anymore. Drawing gymnasts became my favorite thing to do (if I couldn't be a gymnast, why not draw them?) and Nadia was my "guinea pig" so to speak. I had become so familiar with her features that when I tried something new, I tried it out on a photo of Nadia first. That was my test as to whether this new media or method would work for me.

I was able to finally take gymnastics lessons at the age of 22. I learned to do a back tuck on trampoline but was too chicken to do the skill by myself. I also learned how to do a one-handed cartwheel.

I am married now and have 3 beautiful children: Sarah, Cindy and P.J. They keep me busy and our pets do too. We have 2 cats, 3 birds (2 parakeets, 1 cockatiel), and 1 fish. Our cat, named, "Bagheera" is such a rascal. She attacks the toilet paper, opens the cabinet drawers in the bathroom (where we used to keep her for the night) and she fishes out the braided elastics and plays hockey with them. She loves the ring that comes from around the milk jug. She plays soccer with them. She is 3 1/2 years old and a small sized kitty. We also have toy mice for her and she manages to bit off their tails and one she defurred! Her baby sister does the same things. Bagheera even taught her to fluff her tail when playing.

I don't draw as much as I used to but I do indulge every now and then when I get the inspiration and the time.
